As I have noted in other posts, I have been working with the MAKAZI BORA housing microfinance program in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We started the program in mid 2009. Not everything has gone as planned, but some significant success was made in developing what appears to be a product with strong potential within its current operating environment.
